Some Recent Developments in q - Series ( Extended

چکیده
In this talk, I shall concentrate on q-series algorithms that have been implemented in computer algebra. This, of course, ignores a variety of other work (including some described in my other talk). However, I believe that computational techniques arising from advances in computer algebra make one of the most important and appealing topics in this subject. There are essentially four topics that will be considered here primarily because they have been important to my work in various ways. I hope the authors of other algorithmic methods will forgive me for my narrow approach. First we jointly consider the celebrated W − Z method [17] and Pfaff’s method [2], [15]. These methods rely on contiguous relations to prove identities. The work in [17], [18], [19] has been successfully implemented in MAPLE by D. Zeilberger (cf. [14]) in order to provide breath takingly simple proof of famous theorems in ordinary and basic hypergeometric series. It should be added that improvements and extensions of the WZ method form a very active area of research. Among those contributing are F. Chyzak [8], P. Paule and A. Riese [13] and K. Wegschaider [16]. Much greater detail can be gained from the wonderful book by M. Petkovs̆ek, H. Wilf and D. Zeilberger [14]. Let us consider a classic example from ordinary hypergeometric series to illustrate our viewpoint:

Spectral Estimation of Stationary Time Series: Recent Developments
Spectral analysis considers the problem of determining (the art of recovering) the spectral content (i.e., the distribution of power over frequency) of a stationary time series from a finite set of measurements, by means of either nonparametric or parametric techniques. This paper introduces the spectral analysis problem, motivates the definition of power spectral density functions, and reviews...
متن کاملRecent Developments in Discrete Event Systems
This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...
متن کاملAn Analysis of Recent Developments in Countries with Islamic Awakening
Having mentioned some of major achievements by Islamic awakening, the author has studied developments in countries where Islamic awakening has occurred including Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain as case studies. Finally he has covered Syria's developments in detail and has compared its developments with other countries with respect to Islamic awakening. He has concluded that unlike claims by western co...
متن کاملON THE FUZZY SET THEORY AND AGGREGATION FUNCTIONS: HISTORY AND SOME RECENT ADVANCES
Several fuzzy connectives, including those proposed by Lotfi Zadeh, can be seen as linear extensions of the Boolean connectives from the scale ${0,1}$ into the scale $[0,1]$. We discuss these extensions, in particular, we focus on the dualities arising from the Boolean dualities. These dualities allow to transfer the results from some particular class of extended Boolean functions, e.g., from c...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of Security Council's Dual Standards toward Recent Developments in Libya and Bahrain
With international peace and security covering a broader concept and restriction of governments' authority, issues such as human rights have become intertwined with international peace and security and are no longer an internal issue of governments. It is such that international society may react toward it and make some decisions. What seems important is how Security Council deals with such iss...
